Kellie Ryder - Teacher Governor

I have worked at Vicarage Primary for nearly seven years and in that time I have taught primarily in Nursery and Reception. I have been the Head of Foundation stage for 4 years and we have recently expanded our reception classes from three to four, which has been a challenge! I am committed to developing and extending school provision within the school through good quality teaching a& learning and through shared partnership with parents. This may take the form of a toy library, running literacy workshops with colleagues and extending the early yeras playground area so children can explore a rich and varied environment both indoors and outdoors.

Sue Goodman - LA Governor

I started teaching in Sheffield in 1970, and retired in 2007, as SENCO at Vicarage.  During my ten and a half years at Vicarage, I had also been Assistant Head for two years.  I wanted to keep in close contact with Vicarage after my retirement, as it had become such an important part of my life, and I felt that by being a governor, I could continue to play a purposeful role in its future. I am looking forward to this new role.
Retirement is giving me more time to work voluntarily.  Apart from being a governor, I am also Chair of Newham Crossroads,  a counsellor with Careline, and reading supporter in my daughter-in-law's school.  I am working half time a Research Fellow in the Centre of Crime and Conflict at Middlesex University, undertaking research in young people's experience of alcohol, in a variety of secondary schools.  I am soon to be a grandmother.

Deb Corrall - LA Governor

I wanted to become a governor because when I was at primary school my dad was a governor and he still is in my hometown of Paignton, Devon. He loved being part of the background running of the school and found it a very rewarding and valuable experience. I wanted to find out for myself what it was like and when I moved to East Ham it seemed like a great way to become part of and give something back to the borough.
I am a currently a fourth year medical student at UCL and also work part time in a supporting living scheme with women with learning disabilities. I love the diversity and cultural mix of Newham, which is an incredible contrast to my roots in the South West, I am keen to get involved in activities at Vicarage and feel proud to be a governor at this great school.

Farid Ahmed - Parent Governor

I am a parent of four children.  My two older children attended Vicarage and my 3rd child is studying in year 6 at the same school. Since 2003 to the present I have served as a parent governor at Vicarage Primary School and in 2007 I was re-elected as a parent governor to serve another term.  In 2006-07 I was vice chair of the Vicarage governing body.

I previously served as a Local Education Authority governor in Tower Hamlets. I have also served different positions in organisations working for children’s educational support, also in Tower Hamlets.

As I previously served as a governor, I would like to serve the school community continuously, raising concerns, contributing to the further development of the school and raising the standard of the children’s education step by step in all aspects.

Flutra Shega - Community Governor

I am mother of two children. I am British Albanian and I work for the Charitable Company that works with the Albanian speaking community in London called Shpresa Programme - Albanian for Hope as an education development worker. My background is Teacher and I really enjoy this work which empowers Albanian speaking parents to get involved with their children's education and encourages Albanian speaking children to learn more about their language and culture. It has been a great pleasure to be a school governor and work close with the head teacher and other teachers to make sure on one hand the needs identified from the community are represented at the high level and at the other hand that the difficulties and issues that the school faces working with the community are discussed and consulted so the best solution is taken to solve it.
