School Background
Vicarage Primary is a large school in the London Borough of Newham. It serves a culturally and ethnically diverse community in East London as the majority of our pupils are from minority ethnic backgrounds.
Pupils at Vicarage make satisfactory progress and there is good provisions for pupil welfare, support and guidance throughout the school. There is an emphasis on the continued development in not just the core academic subjects but also in the foundation curriculum. Children develop and foster good social, moral and personal skills through positive staff role models.
The school aims to create a great home-school partnership built on a foundation of mutual trust and respect that will result in success for the children.
Vicarage Primary School is an Investor in People. We are also an Activmark School due to our commitment to the children being healthy and well and ensuring that they receive 2 lessons of PE and sports each week.
The school has playing areas and its own grass playing field. A sports hall was added in 2005 which caters for many needs including dining facilities as well as after school community use.
We have produced a School Profile which contains important information about the school and our priorities, the school's performance, strengths and areas for improvement. Copies of the profile are available from the main entrance or can be read online at www.parentscentre.gov.uk
